Sts. Vartanantz Church Sunday School Graduation

On Sunday, May 18th, the congregation of Sts. Vartanantz Church gathered in the sanctuary to celebrate the graduation of the 8th grade Sunday School class. In the presence of Der Kapriel, Yeretzgin Debbie, parents, grandparents, and parishioners each graduate was given the opportunity to share a passage or verse from the Bible and explain how it inspires or relates to each of their lives. Prior to sharing their readings, the graduation began with a message from Der Kapriel and Stacey Khatchadourian. Mr. Jason Simonian who co-teaches the 8th grade class was not able to be present.
The graduates, Matthew Burke, Sareen Khatchadourian, Leila Khatchadourian and Aren Khatchadourian were reminded to remain strong in their faith, and remember what they have been taught at Sunday School. As we begin each Sunday School year, Mr. Jason always reminds us that Jesus is the greatest influencer! Every Sunday is an opportunity to renew your relationship with God. As we have learned in class we are asked to worship God with our heart, soul and mind. Lamentations 3 comments that God’s mercies are new every morning!
During graduation, the four students were reminded that they are proof of our victory! Our oppressors attempted to erase us, in other words to dim our light. As Armenian Christians we are responsible to serve our Church and be supportive of one another.
Just like home, the doors of Sts. Vartanantz are always open.
The graduation commenced, with a closing prayer and graduate pledge, the singing of the Hayr Mer and distribution of a certificate and Bible for each student.
